Concept

In 2024, Youthquake renovated its website with a new, interactive, 3D interface. Environments, props and animations are result of a long design process which started with the idea of re-creating the real office in 3D, along with chairs and furniture, but eventually morphed into a more futuristic workspace.

Navigation Design

The ground floor is the Home, where we created 5 different corners for each section of the website (About Us, Team, Editorial, the NFT page, and Careers), whereas the Lab is where all internal projects are displayed.

Interactions

Some parts of the navigation, including the Team section, represented with a slack-like chat between all the members of the team, and the Tram animation, were animated separately to create interactive elements in the scene.

3D Modeling & Texturing

All props and environments were modelled, textured and their textures baked for the best web optimization. The biggest challenge was to create sets of models and textures light enough to be supported online. Together with YQ development team, we proceeded to various iterations of compression in order to achieve reasonable file sizes and a smooth navigation.
